Stanford 2015 - BoysOur boys rebounded from a disappointing 3rd place finish at our BIG VIII Cluster #1, remember we were sitting 2 varsity runners, on Thursday at our league meet to stepping their game up on Saturday to finish 6th in the seeded race (fastest race of the day). The placed 9th overall with all heats combined out of 188 teams.
Our boys were led by Sophomore Raymon Ornelas, who was the 2nd fastest underclassmen of the day and 15th fastest overall, he also ran the 2nd fastest time in school history behind alumni Branden Randall. Two other sophomores rounded out our top 3 scorers in Wayne Richards and Tyler Spencer followed by two Juniors, Isaiah Madrigal and Jozef Chavez. Our top 5 boys are all underclassmen non-seniors and we competed with some of the best in the state!. Our boys beat some of the top talent from the CIF Southern Section and look to jump back into the rankings this week. |
stanford 2015 - GirlsOur girls followed up their BIG VIII League Win with a conservative effort at this years Stanford Invitational. Our girls placed 12th in the seeded race and 18th overall out of 171 teams.
Our girls were led by a breakout performance from Paloma Barron who ran 1 min and 30 seconds faster than last year to finish 30th in 18:34 over the 5k course! Tahlia Adams followed up her performance on Thursday with #2 finish for us in a time of 18:49 a min slower than last year but impressive nonetheless due to her conditioning level right now. Our top 5 was rounded out with Crystal Valiente, Britttany Marrero, and Aily Camacho. We also had a huge PR from our new transfer Jillian Guzman covering the course in 21:02. Our girls have been battling nagging injuries and we are extremely proud of their performances this week to help keep them competitive among the best talents in CA. |
